Spring is coming in fits and starts this year. Feeling some cabin fever, I ventured out to find one of Vienna’s many Easter markets.
On my first attempt, I ended up at the Spanish Riding School. No Easter market. But, horses!
Take two: Success at Schönbrunn Palace, the emperor’s “summer” residence. (Click any photo to launch a bigger, prettier gallery view.)
Want one more view of the palace? Here’s a panorama of the front. We’ll definitely come back and do a more formal “palace tour” when the grounds are in full bloom. But even on a dreary day, it’s still a spectacular place.

I’m so jealous, Sandy! We’re wishing for spring in WI too, but you’ve got so much cooler things to do while you wait it out!
Just new cool stuff. Trust me, there’s lots to miss about Madison!
Lovely. I’m traveling in April first week. How must be the weather right now?
The weather is definitely warming up, though overall, March has been very erratic. The day I visited the market, it snowed. I’ve read that April averages 14 C, though!
Okay grazie! Il get a mixed bunch of clothing
